Goodwater marks One Year anniversary with Aspire Defence Capital Works

Over the last year or so we have forged good relationships with the Aspire Defence team and all the various contractors we have worked with along the way.

It has been an extremely busy period during which time we have successfully worked on more than 150 buildings. The work we have been involved with has been very varied and includes:

• Flushing , chemically cleaning, dosing and sampling of new heating systems to the latest BSRIA standards and in compliance with the Aspire Defence specification.
• Dosing and sampling of existing secondary solar systems.
• Water sampling and metallurgical analysis of system components.
• Chlorination of Domestic Water Services.
• Enabling works for various trial systems.

Understandably, we at Goodwater Ltd are extremely proud to have reached this milestone and to have maintained our position. To be involved in such a tremendous programme of improvement for the nation’s Army is an honour so we hope that the next year will be equally successful.

Project Allenby/Connaught

Under Project Allenby/Connaught, the largest infrastructure PFI ever let by the Ministry of Defence, modern, high quality, fully serviced and purpose built living and working accommodation is being provided by Aspire Defence, a joint venture between Carillion and KBR.

Since the start of the Project in 2006, the 8-year construction programme and 35-year service delivery contract is making soldiers’ lives better by:

• Improving the quality of life for over 18,700 soldiers who live and work in the garrisons situated across Salisbury Plain and Aldershot.
• Providing services and accommodation for 20% of the trained British Army.
• Delivering modern, high quality, fully serviced and purpose built living and working accommodation

The eight year construction programme --includes 378 new buildings, 177 refurbished/altered and 487 demolitions. 

As a consequence of all this, soldiers returning from demanding operations in Afghanistan are now increasingly moving into new accommodation which is of a standard they deserve and of which the nation can be proud. Project Allenby/Connaught is making soldiers’ lives better.
