Facilities Management

By definition, Facilities Management (FM) is the total management of all services and built environment infrastructure that supports the core business of an organisation. Good Facilities Management makes a huge difference to the efficiency and productivity of a company and takes the strain out of running support services, freeing up time and resources to allow the client to concentrate on running their businesses.

Facilities Management encompasses a hugely diverse range of soft and hard services like security, cleaning, Planned Preventative Maintenance, and so on, all of which combine to ensure the safety and welfare of employees as required by law, and also make the workplace and surrounding environment a more pleasant and secure place to work in.

The maintenance of mechanical and electrical services in any building can be a significant overhead, so it essential to maintain installed equipment and systems cost-effectively, without compromising the building’s ability to function.

Every building contains water systems, including:

  • Domestic hot and cold water services – feeding tanks, calorifiers and taps, toilets, showers and other outlets
  • Heating Systems – including low temperature water systems (LTHW) providing heating through radiators and other terminal units as well as MTHW and HTHW systems
  • Cooling systems – Chilled Water and Condenser Systems Providing cooling via various AC type systems
  • Swimming pools and spa baths
  • Water features and irrigation

These systems have to be maintained both mechanically and also from a water treatment and water hygiene perspective in order for building owners to comply with current standards and to ensure the systems and associated plant do not fail.

The FM company provides the single point solution for the client for all aspects of a tailored maintenance programme, but relies almost entirely on quality partnerships in specific fields of expertise to support their service.

With over 30 years’ experience in Facilities Management, Goodwater is that partner of choice for all FM companies regardless of their size and portfolio as we provide all necessary system testing, treatment chemicals, water hygiene and monitoring services and water treatment equipment and component servicing required.

We understand the challenges faced by FM organisations of all sizes and work with them to develop solutions for customers with their own individual challenges including minimising the cost of operations while meeting stringent compliance and regulations.
