After a lengthy application process which began in January 2020, we are proud to announce that our Dioxychlor Plus System now carries full WRAS approval.
The Goodwater Dioxychlor Plus system is part of our Dorado range of Chlorine Dioxide dosing equipment and is a direct development of the Dioxychlor III treatment system incorporating a range of enhanced features to increase its effectiveness.
WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) is an accreditation body whose membership comprises all the UK’s 26 water suppliers. It exists to promote and ensure compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations in England and Wales, and the equivalent Water Byelaws in Scotland and Northern Ireland. These bylaws require that a water fitting should not cause waste, misuse, undue consumption or contamination of the water supply and must be ‘of an appropriate quality and standard’.
It is a legal requirement for installers to ensure that anything they put into a hot and cold water system complies with these bylaws. The easiest, but not the only, way for a manufacturer/supplier such as ourselves to demonstrate this compliance is by securing a WRAS approval.
Simply put, without this approval, we could not sell the majority of our products as consultants would not specify them and contractors could not install them. We have been market leaders in this area, being the first company to achieve a WRAS approval for a chlorine dioxide product.
